Data Migration Technical Lead - London (Hybrid) or Philippines (Hybrid)
ThirdEye Consulting – Where Technical Ambition Meets Real-World Impact
ThirdEye Consulting is a top-tier Data & AI consultancy, and yes, we're Salesforce partners too, but that's just one part of a much bigger story!
We specialise in delivering high-impact, complex transformation programmes for ambitious clients. We help forward-thinking organisations tackle serious technical debt, drive their AI agenda, and unlock what's often their most undervalued asset: clean, connected data. As registered partners across multi-cloud providers, we're genuinely technology-agnostic. We choose what's right for the problem, not what's convenient.
AI isn't a bolt-on here. It's woven into how we work, how we deliver, and where we're headed. We have a dedicated AI Innovation team with a real budget, genuine freedom to explore emerging tools, and the kind of open, curious culture that attracts sharp people and keeps them. You'll be working alongside some of the best technical minds in the industry, and you'll have the space to grow alongside them.
This is a rare combination: the security of a growing, commercially successful consultancy, with the innovation agenda and agility of a company genuinely at the frontier. Here, cutting-edge isn't an aspiration; it's the standard we hold ourselves to every day. You'll get hands-on with the latest technology, help shape the direction of client programmes, and be part of an AI journey, without the risk of being left behind by it.
If you're technically curious, energised by complex problems, and ready to do your best work, this is the place.
The role:
We are looking for a hands-on Data Migration Technical Lead to join our team. You will take ownership of complex, high-volume data migration programmes from inception through to go-live. You will work directly with clients to gather requirements, design source-to-target mappings, build and execute migration pipelines, and drive quality outcomes across every stage of delivery.
This is a dual-facing position: you will be a trusted technical authority in client rooms and a practitioner who rolls their sleeves up to write SQL, build ETL jobs, and resolve data quality issues. You will also contribute to ThirdEye’s internal best-practice frameworks and you will participate in pre-sales work as required.
What you’ll do:
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Facilitate working sessions to agree data scope, cleansing rules, transformation logic, and acceptance criteria.
Lead discovery workshops and requirements-gathering sessions, translating business needs into clear, actionable migration designs.
Own the room with clients by presenting technical approaches, managing expectations, and building trust at all levels from data owners to C-suite level stakeholders.
Technical Delivery
Produce and maintain source-to-target mapping specifications, data dictionaries, and transformation design documents.
Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines using tooling such as Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or open-source equivalents.
Write and optimise SQL for data profiling, extraction, deduplication, cleansing, and validation against legacy source systems.
Develop Python (or equivalent) scripts to handle bespoke transformation logic and automation tasks.
Execute migration runs, triage failures, and iterate through multiple mock and cutover cycles through to production readiness.
Manage file and attachment migration workstreams
Standards & Practice
Define and enforce delivery standards across migration workstreams, including testing frameworks, reconciliation reporting, and sign-off processes.
Contribute to ThirdEye’s internal migration methodology, reusable accelerators, and best-practice documentation.
Support Architects during pre-sales activities by scoping migration efforts, producing estimates, and contributing to proposals and client presentations as required.
What you have done:
Technical Experience
Delivered multiple end-to-end data migration and ETL projects in complex, multi-system environments.
Demonstrated proficiency in SQL for legacy data profiling and transformation, and in at least one scripting language (Python preferred) for automation.
Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise ETL tools: Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Talend, or comparable open-source tooling.
Managed high-volume data loads with an understanding of API bulk patterns, rate limits, and governor constraints.
Consulting & Delivery Background
Consulting background with exposure to varied clients across multiple industries or verticals.
Seen programmes through end-to-end, from initial scoping and workshop facilitation through to UAT, cutover, and post-migration hypercare.
Accountable for delivery outcomes on a programme of work or defined workstream, with a track record of hitting milestones in pressured environments.
Strong workshopping and facilitation skills; able to engage both technical teams and non-technical business stakeholders with equal confidence.
Nice to have:
General
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM data migrations.
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake).
Exposure to data governance frameworks or MDM tooling.
Certifications in relevant platforms (e.g. Azure Data Engineer, Informatica).
Legal Sector Migrations
Delivered data migrations from or between legal practice management systems, including platforms such as Aderant, Elite 3E, Proclaim, iManage, and MatterSphere.
Worked hands-on with legal data structures: matters, clients, parties, time recordings, disbursements, and document/matter histories.
Held working knowledge of legal data models such as Nebulaw, or finance/PSA platforms such as Certinia (FinancialForce).
Who you are:
A self-starter who takes ownership and thrives on responsibility
Comfortable working in ambiguity and turning it into structure and progress
A natural leader who brings energy, clarity, and direction to teams, using influence and collaboration to drive alignment, enable change, and motivate high-performing delivery teams.
Passionate about delivering real impact, not just ticking boxes
Curious and forward-thinking, especially when it comes to AI and new ways of working
Someone who enjoys contributing beyond delivery, including pre-sales and shaping how the business grows
What you’ll get:
Real ownership, real impact
The opportunity to work on complex, high-profile transformation programmes
A collaborative, high-performing team environment that challenges and supports you
The opportunity to own your career growth and direction
