The Role
We are seeking an experienced Salesforce DevOps Engineer to lead end-to-end release management for Salesforce environments. This role will ensure structured, conflict-free, and well-documented deployments across multiple workstreams while maintaining alignment between teams and environments. A strong understanding of Salesforce metadata and hands-on build experience will be highly advantageous to ensure seamless coordination between development and release processes.
What You’ll Do
Release Coordination & Deployment
Manage and coordinate the deployment of Salesforce metadata across all environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Production).
Act as the gatekeeper for changes, ensuring deployments are conflict-free, dependency-aware, and aligned with the agreed release calendar.
Leverage deep understanding of Salesforce metadata types, deployment nuances, and configuration differences to minimise risk and ensure consistent releases.
Maintain a source-driven single source of truth across all environments to prevent misalignment, overwrites, and divergence.
Change Management & Communication
Serve as the central point of communication for all release activities, ensuring delivery teams, business users, and stakeholders are informed in advance.
Provide clear release notes, deployment schedules, and impact assessments to all affected teams.
Organise post-deployment reviews and feedback loops to improve future release quality and coordination.
Work closely with project managers and business leads to communicate cutover plans, risk mitigation steps, and contingency measures.
Collaboration & Governance
Work closely with developers, admins, and QA teams to ensure sequenced, version-controlled, and documented pre- and post-deployment activities.
Support build processes where needed, assisting with configuration, metadata preparation, and packaging for releases.
Facilitate cutover planning and support production go-lives with a low-risk, structured approach to release execution.
Manage BAU (business-as-usual) ticket releases in parallel with project deployments, ensuring dependencies are handled seamlessly.
Environment Management & Reporting
Support environment refresh cycles and sandbox management, ensuring environments remain consistent and fit for purpose throughout the project lifecycle.
Define and enforce best practices for release governance, version control, rollback planning, and deployment automation.
Provide metrics and reporting on deployment success, release frequency, and environment alignment.
You Have Done:
3+ years in Salesforce DevOps / Release Management roles.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce DX, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Jenkins), and version control systems (e.g., Git).
Deep understanding of Salesforce metadata types (Apex classes, Lightning Web Components, Profiles, Permission Sets, etc.) and deployment nuances.
Exposure to Salesforce build processes or configuration tasks to better support development and release readiness.
Excellent coordination and communication skills across distributed and cross-functional teams.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies, release governance, and change management processes.
Preferred:
Relevant Salesforce certifications.
Experience in enterprise-scale, multi-workstream deployments with complex metadata dependencies.
If you’re passionate about delivering high-quality solutions, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and have a keen eye for detail, we’d love to hear from you!
